Dear Sirs,

September 11, 2001 - a day that will remind generations to come, not only of the horrendous tragedy that took place in New York City, but also of the staggering groundswell of humanitarian support that followed.

Your partnership following these events has helped more than you might imagine. We are especially appreciative of the way in which you facilitated the transfer of our nyredcross.org web site to a high-speed server better equipped to handle the high volume of traffic after September 11th. As a result, we were able to get the word out about critical American Red Cross services and the locations of service centers around the city, as well as to handle the thousands of people who wanted to volunteer, donate goods, services, or money, and give blood.

Thanks to our volunteers and supporters, the American Red Cross will continue to be here. We still have a very big job ahead of us with regard to the World Trade Center disaster, but you can count on us to carry through - just as we have been able to count on generous and committed friends like you.

Cordially,

Robert M. Bender, Jr.
Chief Executive Officer
